Dream jobs

Oh yeah! Dream Jobs! I know everyone out there in the blogosphere has that dream job that they dream of landing! For me, dream jobs consist of:
  1. Tattoo Artist
  2. Writer
  3. Bartender
  4. Jewelry Maker
  5. Dancer
  6. CD Cover Designer
  7. Graphic Designer
  8. World Traveler
  9. Photographer
  10. Teacher
  11. Artist
  12. Business owner
Those are just some of the dream jobs I have. It doesn't go in any certain order or anything, just listing ones I like. Tattoo Artist would be a cool job because if you really think about it, tattoos almost tell a story. A writer, definitely cool. I'm creative in that sense, I love to write short stories, I've never published them or anything, I usually just write short stories because they're fun and I guess I have an overactive imagination, which for the field I'm in definitely is not bad. Bartender would be cool because you can entertain while serving patrons really awesome drinks. Photography has always been an avid fascination of mine, so if I couldn't find a job as a Graphic Designer, Photography, baby! I love taking picures, I'm a massive picture hoarder basically, I have a lot of pictures of family that I love putting in scrapbooks and stuff. Traveling allows you to explore the vast lands of our world and explore rich, indulgent cultures, and explore new lands. And if I were to open a business, it would be a retro/vintage store, the 1960s and 1970s and 1980s are making a comeback and they are finding a new generation with the younger crowds. Younger people nowadays are beginning to discover bands like The Grateful Dead, Aerosmith, The Beatles, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, etc. Younger people are beginning to discover the treasures of the 1960s, 70s, 80s, etc, at least I call them treasures, not sure what everyone else may call them. But I'm kind of a dreamer I guess, and there is alot of stuff I"d looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove to do in this short little lifetime of mine, I mean, no one lives forever, so during my time here on Earth I'd love to accomplish everything I can. Live life to the fullest is one of my many mottos.

Not too long ago, on Facebook, someone put a 30 day photo challenge thing on there and this person had everyone putting 15 facts about themselves on it, well here's 15 facts about myself for those who read this:

  1. My mom's convinced I'm a reincarnated hippie
  2. The Rolling Stones and The Beatles are my 2 fave 60s British rock bands
  3. In my eyes, Mick Jagger is the sexiest man alive to come out of England! And if I were his exact age, I'd marry him in a heartbeat if he asked! Sorry, but for being 67 years old, he sure does have a sexy body still!!!!!
  4. I, for some reason that's still unknown to me, find Asian, Italian and English men totally sexy!!!
  5. I have a stepdad named Greg, a mom named Brenda, a dad named Steve and a sis named Jessie
  6. In my spare time, I love to read. If I don't have a book to read or something to read, I lose my marbles and go nuts from boredom!
  7. I'm a huge art nut. I love art of all sorts
  8. Someday, I would love to live in 1 of 5 places: England, China, Italy, Japan, Australia
  9. I want to learn a foreign language other than Spanish
  10. I want to fall in love
  11. I want to get a tattoo
  12. I want to travel the world
  13. I'm only 5'8'' tall
  14. People say when I was younger I looked like Bette Davis because of my blonde hair.
  15. I'll listen to virtually any music except for rap/hip hop. I absolutely refuse to listen to that insane headache causing music!!!!
  16. I want to go to a concert before I die for someone I actually listen to!
  17. I'm a huge fan of flip flops
  18. If you were to try and find me in the town of Bellevue, Ky, where I live, you would most likely find me at home either A. cleaning the house with the windows open and see me jamming out to The Rolling Stones singing right along with Mick Jagger, B. sitting on the front porch reading a book about The Beatles that I own or C. Sitting on the front porch reading a book about The Rolling Stones.
  19. I can be very chatty at times and other times, be just downright silent as the grave. It's because I'm a rather shy person and don't like talking much.

Stuff.......

I remember when I was younger, I used to say "When I grow up, I want to...." and I would have all these things I said I wanted to do. I also had a alot of career change ideas. Like when I was 4 all the way up until I was 10, I wanted to be a doctor, but after I found out about all the schooling it required and about the additional schooling for certain fields in medicine like podiatry or pediatrics, I quickly changed that one. And after that, I wanted to go into forensic science like on CSI. But when I found out that no school around where I live offer that as a course, there goes that. And after that, I wanted to go into police work and become a police officer because police work has always held a strong interest for me, but when i found out there was a high fatality and divorce rate for cops/firemen and firewomen, that went out the window before anyone knew it! So now I'm going to school for art. Hopefully, if possible, maybe I can go into Video Game Design, CD Cover Design, Advertising, or maybe Screen Printing, you know, making T-shirts for businesses and stuff. I love to be creative and Screen Printing sounds really fun! It' really funny how things ebd up, huh? When you're younger, it seems like you could conquer the world when you grow up, and before you know it, adulthood is knocking at your door.

When you were little.........

Remember when you were little and you had all these things you wanted to do? You'd probably say "When I get older, I want to..." Well, when I was little, I wanted to so badly be a doctor. I was almost borderline obsessed with wanting to be a doctor. But when I found out that there were many branches in the medical field and that I would have to decide what field to go into and all the school tied to it, I quickly changed my mind. But when I was 14, I wanted to be a forensic scientist like on CSI:NY. I wanted to go to school and be like the people on CSI:NY, I wanted to be like Lindsay or Stella, but when I found out there were no schools for that kind of stuff, once again, I changed my mind. But then again there was something I wanted to go to school for, Video Game Design. At the time, I heard there were no schools for that, so somehow, don't ask me how, I got into Graphic Design. I guess I figured that if I do something like this, it might lead me into Video Game Design or something.

But right now, I'm going for an Associate's degree in Graphic Design. Right now, I'm going to school for that.  But I think back on when I was little, and all the things I said I'd do. When I was about 12, I wanted to be a cop, but I heard about the large fatality rate for that, that quickly changed my mind!

What I really want to do is either go into a job making CD covers for famous bands/artists, work for a video game design company helping to make video games, or advertising.

Hola!

Hola! How would one advertise themselves? Most would say that advertising is trying to get people to take notice of something, like a product. Well, these blogs are here to advertise the people behind the blogs. So if I were to advertise myself, you'd probably find me doing an ad for some retro-vintage store wearing granny glasses, tie-dye, and bell-bottoms. That's who I am, I'm your average, every day, modern hippie beat-nik. I wear retro clothes, and I like older music. To tell you a little about me, I have a somewhat large family, most of them living in central Kentucky. I have a dad named Steve, a little sis named Jessica, but we call her Jessie, a mom named Brenda, and a step-dad named Greg.

I'm 19 and I'm a college student. This is my 2nd year at Gateway Community and Technical College. I'm going for an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. I enjoy listening to music and reading books in my off time, I love all kinds of music, like R&B, jazz, British Invasion-era, rock, Latin, club/techno(Rihanna), new wave, like U2 and Coldplay. I enjoy reading alot, my favorite books are The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey, and I enjoy reading books about people because I enjoy learning new things about people I never knew before. My dad owns alot of biographies on people I have no idea who they are, mainly just British actors and comedians he likes. I only own 3, 2 are on actors, 1 is on a band I like. But when I'm not doing homework for school, I usually have my head stuck in a book or are listening to music. It's one of the simple pleasures I have. On Friday it's my birthday and I'm getting Chinese food for dinner.

I'm turning 20 and I could care less.Anymore, birthdays are like just another day to me. Some of the goals I have for the near future is to simply graduate, nothing too hard. And for the far future, I want to travel the world, see some of the beautiful places in the world, like China, Japan, Italy, Australia. I enjoy traveling everywhere. The teachers here at Gateway are totally awesome. They're always here to help and that is good. I'm enjoying every second of school I can, because soon I'll graduate and I'll be in the working world. Some think it's scary, but I'm looking forward to it. My dad tries to say it's hard, and for all I know, he might be right, but I'll just have to wait and see. My dad says I'll be one of those super, peppy, happy, cheery people in the morning who greets everyone with a million dollar smile. I'm not going to be like that in the morning, but I will enjoy my job.

Because if you see me in the morning, I'm not peppy, happy, cheery. I need my coffee to do that. I'm not a morning person unless I have my coffee! But I'm basically the kind of person that treats everyone with the kindness and respect I think they deserve. I'm hoping to go into a job like advertising or any job that involves CD cover design. Because in one of my classes here, my final project for this one class of mine, 2D design, was to create a CD cover for a band/artist we like, I did Aerosmith for my CD cover. It was a little blurry when it came out maybe because of the printer or something, but I'm proud of it. If I can land a job doing advertising or CD cover design, you'd think you bought me the world I'd be so happy.

I'm also the type of person that, when given the chance to do something, I go at it full force. I enjoy my work, and I'm not sure if that's a problem, but I enjoy doing graphic design, it's what interests me. Out of all the classes I've had here at Gateway, I'd have to say that my most favorite classes are the Intro to Computers, Fundamentals of Drawing, Computer Page Layout, 2D Design, my Macromedia Flash class, Corporate Identity. Those are my favorite classes because they are fun.

Goals for the future and a little of me!

My goals for the future are simple and short: I want to simply graduate. Nothing more, nothing less, I'm a simple person with simple aspirations. I want to simply graduate. I don't want large goals, like get married or have a million kids, but to simply graduate. My goal is to go into either advertising or CD Cover design. I know I'll never be good enough for video game design, but CD cover design or advertising suits me well. I LOVE creating posters and advertisements. In fact, not too long ago, I had to creat something for my step-dad, mom and sister. My step-dad wanted a poster advertising a fictional music weekend. A few years ago, there was a music weekend at Riverbend called Hillbilly Weekend or something like that where nothing but Southern rock was played by Hank Williams Jr. and Willie Nelson. So I created this fictional 'British Invasion' weekend concert. I put 3 of the world's most famous British badns on it-- The Rolling Stones, The Who, Paul McCartney and Wings. So I'm really looking to get into advertising. So a little about me, my favorite shows are CSI:NY, Law and Order:SVU, Top Gear. My main goal for the far future is to travel the world, to learn how to speak Chinese, Japanese, Italian and travel to those countries. With me being a super huge Beatles fan, it would be cool to travel to London and see Abbey Road studios. Now, I'm not sure if anyone else shares goals similar to mine or my favorite music tastes, but I always love hearing about cool things about others.
